Who wants to get up close with some urine, eh? It's fascinating stuff! If upon examination urine looks or tests chemically abnormal, a microscopic view can be helpful. Striking (though not always abnormal or significant) you may find crystals. Shown in this piece are amorphous urates, uric acid crystals, calcium oxalate crystals, triple phosophates (struvite), calcium phosphate crystals, and ammonium biurate crystals.
