Sandra Black is an artist and illustrator who paints a wide range of scientific imagery from the microscopic world to data science and bioinformatics. She works in watercolor, acrylic medium, and digital art.
Sandra attended University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor's of Science in cell biology and genetics, then George Washington University for medical laboratory science (Microbiology). While working as a clinical microbiologist in the DC area and inspired by the imagery within the lab, she began honing her skills as an artist. She currently paints full time from her at-home studio in Georgia.
